At noon on December 23, Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations (VUFO) visited Center for International Security and Strategy (CISS). The two sides engaged in in-depth discussions on the current trajectory of China-Vietnam relations, the state of people-to-people diplomacy between the two countries, and potential directions for future cooperation.

On the morning of December 6, a delegation from the National Research University Higher School of Economics (HSE University), Russia, visited the Center for International Security and Strategy (CISS) at Tsinghua University. The two sides held discussions on global artificial intelligence governance, China–Russia cooperation on artificial intelligence, and collaboration between universities in AI-related research.

To advance research on transboundary water governance in the Lancang–Mekong region and deepen academic cooperation with regional partners, the project team of the Lancang–Mekong Transboundary Water Resources Observatory under the Tsinghua University Center for International Security and Strategy (CISS) conducted academic exchanges and field research in Cambodia and Laos from December 2 to 7, 2025. The delegation was headed by CISS Director and project expert Da Wei, and included Hu Bo, Special Expert at CISS and Director of the Center for Maritime Strategy Studies at Peking University; Song Bo, Assistant Research Fellow at CISS; Zhao Zilong, Postdoctoral Fellow at Tsinghua University’s Department of Hydraulic Engineering; and Wang Jie, Program Officer of the Observatory.

On November 21, 2025, a delegation from the U.S. Atlantic Council visited the Center for International Security and Strategy (CISS) at Tsinghua University, exchanging views with Chinese experts on issues of mutual concern in U.S.-China relations. The meeting was hosted by Da Wei, Director of CISS and Professor in the Department of International Relations.

On October 28, 2025, Esko Aho, former Prime Minister of Finland and Chairman of the Finland Industry China Office, led a delegation to visit the Center for International Security and Strategy (CISS) at Tsinghua University. The meeting was attended by Da Wei, Director of CISS; Xiao Qian, Deputy Director; Zhao Hai, Director of the International Politics Research Department, National Global Strategy Think Tank, Institute of World Economics and Politics, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences; Pan Yuanyuan, Deputy Director of the International Investment Office; and Shi Yan, Assistant Research Fellow at CISS. The delegation and CISS experts discussed issues including China–U.S.–EU relations and artificial intelligence (AI) governance.

On the morning of October 29, 2025, a delegation from the Arsenault Family Foundation China visited the Center for International Security and Strategy (CISS) at Tsinghua University. The two sides exchanged views and held discussions on current U.S.–China relations, the fentanyl issue, and potential cooperation mechanisms.

On October 16, a delegation of senior officials from the United Nations Peacekeeping Affairs visited the Center for International Security and Strategy (CISS) at Tsinghua University. Experts and scholars from CISS and the Tsinghua University Schwarzman College’s Tong Zhongying Global Development Center engaged in in-depth discussions on the current status and future prospects of UN peacekeeping operations, as well as China’s evolving role in international security.

On October 14, a U.S. delegation on nuclear security visited the Center for International Security and Strategy (CISS), Tsinghua University, for an in-depth discussion with CISS experts on U.S.–China nuclear strategy and broader nuclear issues.

On October 9, 2025, the CISS Youth program at the Center for International Security and Strategy (CISS), Tsinghua University, held the first session of its “Strategic Youth Roundtable” series, focusing on Public Opinion and the Young Generation. The event featured Susan Shirk, Professor at the University of California, San Diego, and Honorary Director of the 21st Century China Center, and Da Wei, Professor at the Department of International Relations and Director of CISS, as the keynote speakers.

Recently, Daniel Russel, Distinguished Fellow at the Asia Society Policy Institute (ASPI) and former U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for East Asian and Pacific Affairs, visited the Center for International Security and Strategy (CISS), Tsinghua University. He engaged in discussions with CISS experts on China-U.S. relations and regional hotspot issues.

On September 9, 2025, Ms. Sevim Dagdelen, Vice Chair of the Bündnis Sahra Wagenknecht – Reason and Justice (BSW), visited the Center for International Security and Strategy (CISS) at Tsinghua University. She held in-depth discussions with Liu Feng, Deputy Dean of the School of Social Sciences, Deputy Director of CISS, and Professor in the Department of International Relations; Chen Qi, Deputy Director of CISS and Professor in the Department of International Relations; Qu Wei, Director of the Global Learning Center of the School of Sociology; Shi Yan, Assistant Research Fellow at CISS; and Xing Houyuan, expert of the Global Alliance for Trade in Services. The discussions focused on current international dynamics, the Ukraine crisis, as well as China-U.S. and China-Europe relations.

On September 9, 2025, Daniel Leaf, former Deputy Commander of the U.S. Pacific Command, visited the Center for International Security and Strategy (CISS) at Tsinghua University for discussions with CISS experts on U.S.-China relations and regional hotspot issues.
