On May 8, 2026, the Third Strategic and Policy Research Seminar was successfully held. The seminar was jointly organized by the Center for International Security and Strategy (CISS) at Tsinghua University and the Center for Global Competence Development (CGCD) at Tsinghua University, with support from the Student Association for International Strategy Studies (SAISS) at Tsinghua University. The seminar aimed to help young students aspiring to careers in diplomacy, strategic planning, and international relations research broaden their global perspectives and cultivate strategic thinking. A total of 27 students from institutions including Tsinghua University, Peking University, Renmin University of China, Central Party School of the Communist Party of China, and Beijing Foreign Studies University participated in the event.

On January 5, the Students of CUSEF Spring Festival Exchange Program visited Tsinghua University and participated in a China–U.S. youth exchange event hosted by the Center for International Security and Strategy (CISS) at Tsinghua University. The event was moderated by Guo Jia, Director of International Exchange and Cooperation at CISS. Nearly 30 young students from China and the United States engaged in in-depth discussions on topics including current trends in China–U.S. relations and the responsibilities and roles of youth in global governance.

On May 25, 2025, the 5th International Affairs Workshop was successfully held, co-hosted by the Center for International Security and Strategy (CISS) at Tsinghua University and the Center for Global Competence Development (CGCD) for Tsinghua Students. Aimed at university students across China, the workshop is designed to help aspiring young professionals in international relations, diplomacy, and strategic planning cultivate strategic thinking, deepen their understanding of global affairs, and develop the skills to tell China’s story effectively in future academic and professional pursuits. This year’s workshop welcomed 27 students from institutions such as Tsinghua University, Renmin University of China, the Central Party School, and the University of International Relations. The Student Association for International Strategy Studies (SAISS) at Tsinghua also assisted in organizing the event.

On April 24, 2025, under the guidance and support of the Center for International Security and Strategy (CISS) and the Global Competence Development Guidance Center of Tsinghua University, the Tsinghua Student Association of International and Strategic Studies (SAISS) hosted a lecture featuring Associate Professor Wang Hongchuan from the School of Public Policy and Management at Tsinghua University. Themed “The Chinese Approach to Smart Healthcare: Medical Transformation and Breakthroughs in the Age of Artificial Intelligence,” the lecture offered a comprehensive overview of the current state of AI in healthcare globally and in China, while providing an in-depth analysis of the key challenges faced by the industry. It also presented a vision of how China’s healthcare system is being transformed in the digital and intelligent era.

On April 26, 2025, the Tsinghua University Association for China-U.S. People-to-People Exchange and CISS Youth of the Center for International Security and Strategy (CISS) co-hosted a forum titled “Cross-Border Trade and the International Order under the Trump Administration’s ‘Reciprocal Tariff’ Policy.” The event brought together nine guest speakers from Tsinghua University, Yale University, HeLi Advisory, Vision Capital, and other institutions to discuss the impact of the Trump administration’s proposed reciprocal tariff hikes on global trade and the world order.

On March 13, 2025, the Tsinghua University Student Association for International Strategic Studies (THUSAISS), under the guidance and support of the Center for International Security and Strategy(CISS) and Center for Global Competence Development at Tsinghua University, successfully hosted a thematic lecture titled "From Yale Visiting Scholarship to Munich Security Conference Observations: Where is the China-US-Europe Relationship Heading?" The event invited Dr. Sun Chenghao, a fellow of CISS and a selected "Munich Young Leaders," to analyze the current dynamics and future trends of China-US-Europe relations from multiple perspectives. Dr. Sun drew upon his observations and reflections during his visiting scholarship at Yale Law School and his participation in the Munich Security Conference (MSC).

On May 20, 2022, the Center for International Security and Strategy (CISS) of Tsinghua University held the 3rd student-scholar workshop, where CISS fellow Zhu Rongsheng and Chen Jiashu, a Master’s student at the School of Computer Science, Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications were invited to discuss the validity and compliance risks of intelligent military target identification. The virtual event was moderated by CISS Deputy Director Xiao Qian.

On the morning of April 15, 2022, the Center for International Security and Strategy (CISS) of Tsinghua University held the 2nd student-scholar workshop, where CISS fellows Dong Ting and Miao Zhengming and members of the Tsinghua University Student Association of International and Strategic Studies (SAISS) were invited to discuss information warfare in international conflicts and ways to keep track of the dynamics of technology and China-US relations. The virtual/onsite event was moderated by CISS Deputy Director Xiao Qian.

In the afternoon of March 25, 2022, the Center for International Security and Strategy (CISS) of Tsinghua University held a student-scholar workshop, where CISS fellows Sun Chenghao and Song Bo were invited to discuss pressing global issues with members of the Tsinghua University Student Association of International and Strategic Studies (SAISS). The event was moderated by CISS Deputy Director Xiao Qian, with CISS Director Da Wei making concluding remarks.
