On July 1, 2026, the Seminar on Artificial Intelligence and International Security: Risk Management and Governance of Military Artificial Intelligence was held at Mingli Building, Tsinghua University. Experts and scholars from Tsinghua University, the China Institutes of Contemporary International Relations (CICIR), Tongji University, the Academy of Military Sciences, China University of Political Science and Law, the United Nations Institute for Disarmament Research (UNIDIR), and other universities and research institutions attended the seminar.

From February 11 to 12, 2026, the Center for International Security and Strategy (CISS) of Tsinghua University and the Brookings Institution co-hosted the XIV Round of the "U.S.-China Dialogue on AI and International Security" in Munich, Germany. Over 40 members from both the Chinese and U.S. project teams attended the meeting to engage in discussions on key issues in the fields of artificial intelligence and international security.

On February 10, 2026, the Center for International Security and Strategy (CISS) of Tsinghua University and the Centre for Humanitarian Dialogue (HD) co-hosted the 5th round of the "China-Europe Dialogue on AI and International Security" in Munich, Germany. The meeting brought together over 20 experts and scholars from Chinese and European universities, research institutions, and think tanks to engage in in-depth discussions on the security risks posed by the misuse of advanced AI by non-state actors, as well as risk mitigation strategies at the national and international levels.

The 13th round of the China–U.S. Dialogue on Artificial Intelligence and International Security was successfully held in Dubai on November 15–16, 2025. CISS Director Da Wei and former U.S. Deputy Secretary of Defense Colin Kahl attended the event and delivered remarks. More than 30 members from both sides participated, engaging in in-depth exchanges on issues related to AI and international security.

On October 11, 2025, the Center for International Security and Strategy (CISS) at Tsinghua University successfully held the Symposium on Artificial Intelligence, Security, and Governance in Beijing. The event brought together more than thirty experts and scholars from China, Switzerland, Italy, Israel, the United Kingdom, Russia, South Africa, Indonesia, and Pakistan for in-depth discussions on four key themes: “Risks of Artificial Intelligence to International Peace and Security,” “Risk Reduction and Confidence-Building Measures,” “Applications and Implications of Artificial Intelligence in Armed Conflict,” and “Towards Responsible AI Governance.”

On February 13–14, 2025, the Center for International Security and Strategy (CISS) at Tsinghua University and the Brookings Institution jointly hosted U.S.-China Track II Dialogue Round XII on Artificial Intelligence and International Security in Munich, Germany. Former Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Fu Ying and Brookings Institution President Cecilia Rouse attended and delivered speeches. Nearly 40 members from the Chinese and American project teams participated in discussions on topics related to artificial intelligence and international security.

On February 12, the Center for International Security and Strategy (CISS) at Tsinghua University and the Centre for Humanitarian Dialogue (HD) jointly hosted the fourth round of the The Fourth Round of the China-Europe Dialogue on Artificial Intelligence and International Security in Munich, Germany. The dialogue brought together more than 30 scholars from Chinese and European research institutes, universities, and think tanks for in-depth discussions on the application of AI technology in international security, its potential risks, and China-Europe cooperation in the AI field.

On October 7, 2024, the Center for International Security and Strategy (CISS) of Tsinghua University and the Brookings Institution co-hosted the 11th Round of the U.S.-China Dialogue on Artificial Intelligence and International Security in Venice, Italy. Colin Kahl, former United States Under Secretary of Defense for Policy, attended the event and delivered a speech. A total of more than 30 project team members from China and the U.S. participated in the Dialogue and engaged in in-depth discussions on topics related to AI and international security.

On September 8, 2024, the Center for International Security and Strategy (CISS) of Tsinghua University and the Centre for Humanitarian Dialogue (HD) held the third round of the China-EU Dialogue on Artificial Intelligence and International Security in Seoul, the Republic of Korea. Xiao Qian, Deputy Director of CISS, and Linda van der Horst, Senior Advisor of the Northeast Asia Program at HD, addressed the Dialogue. Both sides focused on scenario deduction and risk mitigation measures in military AI to carry out in-depth discussions and exchanges.

On June 16-17, 2024, the Center for International Security and Strategy (CISS) of Tsinghua University and the Brookings Institution co-hosted the Tenth Round of U.S.-China Dialogue on Artificial Intelligence and International Security in Bali Island, Indonesia, with the support of Australia’s Minderoo Foundation. Colin Kahl, former United States Under Secretary of Defense for Policy, attended the event and delivered a speech. A total of more than 30 project team members from China and the US participated in the Dialogue and engaged in in-depth discussions on AI terms, scenarios, and China-US cooperation on AI governance.

On October 24, the Center for International Security and Strategy (CISS) of Tsinghua University and the Centre for Humanitarian Dialogue (HD) held a bilateral dialogue on “Artificial Intelligence Security Governance.”

On April 7, 2022, the Center for International Security and Strategy (CISS) of Tsinghua University and the Brookings Institution co-hosted the sixth round of the US-China Dialogue on AI and International Security via video link. Mme. FU Ying and Gen. John ALLEN, the Chinese and US project chairpersons, delivered remarks at the event, followed by an intensive discussion among more than 30 members of the Chinese and US project teams.
