The forum was moderated by Sun Chenghao, Fellow at CISS. Sun Bingyan, Assistant Professor in the Department of International Politics at the School of International Studies, Renmin University of China, delivered the keynote presentation. Li Meiying, Associate Professor at the National Defense University, and Zhang Tengjun, Fellow at the Institute of American Studies, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS), joined the discussion as panelists.

On May 26, 2026, the Center for International Security and Strategy (CISS) at Tsinghua University hosted the 27th session of CISS StratFocus, titled “The ‘Local Factor’ in China-U.S. Relations: Understanding State-Level China Policies in the United States.”

On May 18, 2026, the Center for International Security and Strategy (CISS) at Tsinghua University hosted the 99th session of its Strategic and Security Forum, titled “Frontier AI Risks and Governance: Space for China-U.S. Cooperation.” The seminar was moderated by Xiao Qian, Deputy Director of CISS, and brought together more than ten experts and scholars from institutions including Tsinghua University, the National Defense University of the People's Liberation Army, Beijing Normal University, Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology, and the Overseas Policy Research Center of the Alibaba Research Institute.

The Center for International Security and Strategy (CISS) at Tsinghua University held the 26th session of “CISS StratFocus” on April 27, 2026, under the theme “Biosecurity Governance in the Age of Artificial Intelligence.” The forum was moderated by CISS Senior Fellow Dong Ting and featured Bao Yuhan, Lecturer at the School of International Organizations of Beijing Foreign Studies University, as the keynote speaker.

The Center for International Security and Strategy (CISS) at Tsinghua University held the 25th session of “CISS StratFocus” on April 15, 2026, under the theme “Institutional Competition and Order Reconstruction in the Middle East.” The forum was moderated by Wen Jing, Postdoctoral Fellow at CISS. Duan Jiuzhou, Assistant Researcher at the Institute of International and Area Studies of Tsinghua University, was invited as the keynote speaker. Zhu Quangang, Associate Research Fellow at the Department of Political Studies of the Institute of West Asian and African Studies at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, and Wu Shiyao, Lecturer at the School of International Relations of the University of International Business and Economics, participated in the discussion as guest commentators.

On March 3, 2026, the Center for Strategy and Security (CISS) at Tsinghua University successfully held the 20th session of the CISS Talks. The event was moderated by Da Wei, Director of CISS, and featured a keynote presentation by Yang Jiemian, Chairman of the Academic Advisory Council of the Shanghai Institutes for International Studies (SIIS), on the theme of "International Disorder and Global Governance: China's Reflections and Responsibilities." More than forty experts, scholars, and young students attended the session to participate in the discussions.

On December 24, 2025, the Center for International Security and Strategy (CISS) successfully hosted the 24th CISS StratFocus Forum, themed “U.S.-Europe-Russia Dynamics in the Era of Autonomous Competition”. The forum was moderated by Song Bo, Assistant Fellow at CISS. Gu Wei, Director and Research Fellow of the Eurasian Studies Division at the Institute of International Relations of the Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences, delivered the keynote address. Discussants included Kang Jie, Associate Research Fellow at the Institute of American Studies, China Institute of International Studies; Chen Yu, Deputy Director and Associate Research Fellow at the Institute of Eurasian Studies, China Institutes of Contemporary International Relations; and Shi Jing, Assistant Research Fellow at the Institute of International and Regional Studies, Tsinghua University.
