On September 9-10, at the invitation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea (ROK), the Center for International Security and Strategy (CISS) of Tsinghua University organized Chinese experts to attend the second summit on Responsible Artificial Intelligence in the Military Domain (REAIM Summit 2024) in Seoul, the ROK. Co-hosted by the ROK, the Netherlands, Singapore, Kenya, and the United Kingdom, the Summit focuses on the risk and governance of AI applications in the military domain, gathering together more than 2,000 participants from 96 countries and regions. During the period, CISS experts participated in several thematic breakout sessions respectively.

On June 18-19, 2024, the ASEAN-China Future Relations Forum was successfully held in Jakarta, Indonesia. Under the theme of “Towards a More Substantive Comprehensive Strategic Partnership,” the Forum was jointly hosted by the Mission of the People’s Republic of China to ASEAN and the Permanent Mission of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar to ASEAN.

On June 3, the Center for International Security and Strategy (CISS) of Tsinghua University and the Centre for Humanitarian Dialogue (HD) held an online conference on “China-EU Experts’ Dialogue on International Security.”

From May 29 to 31, 2024, the AI for Good Global Summit was held in Geneva, Switzerland. Xiao Qian, Deputy Director of CISS of Tsinghua University, and Sun Chenghao, Fellow of CISS, attended the Summit, where they met and exchanged ideas with representatives from the Institute for the Ethics in Artificial Intelligence at the Technical University of Munich, Globethics, and UNU Macau.

​On April 11, the Center for International Security and Strategy (CISS) of Tsinghua University organized a roundtable discussion in Beijing, inviting Wolfgang Ischinger, former Chairman of the Munich Security Conference (MSC) from 2018 to 2022, to exchange views with Chinese experts.

​On March 19-21, 2024, the Center for International Security and Strategy (CISS) of Tsinghua University, the US Brookings Institution, and the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) co-organized the China-US Food Security Dialogue at the Rockefeller Foundation Bellagio Center, Italy.

January 1, 2024, marks the 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and the United States (US).

On November 15, 2023, the Center for International Security and Strategy (CISS) of Tsinghua University and the UK National Committee on China (UKNCC) jointly organized a UK-China Roundtable Dialogue under the theme of “China’s Standing and Role on the International Stage” in London, UK.

On October 24, the Center for International Security and Strategy (CISS) of Tsinghua University and the Centre for Humanitarian Dialogue (HD) held a bilateral dialogue on “Artificial Intelligence Security Governance.”

On October 24, 2023, the International Symposium to Commemorate the 10th Anniversary of China’s Principle of Amity, Sincerity, Mutual Benefit and Inclusiveness in Neighborhood Diplomacy was held in Beijing.

On October 31, the Center for International Security and Strategy (CISS) of Tsinghua University organized the CISS-HD Dialogue: Ukraine Crisis and China-Ukraine Relations. Participating experts conducted in-depth discussions on China-Ukraine relations, the solution to the Ukraine crisis and China’s role in it, the future bilateral cooperation between China and Ukraine, and other topics.

On September 19, the Center for International Security and Strategy (CISS) of Tsinghua University and the Brookings Institution held the 2nd meeting of the Terminology Working Group on Artificial Intelligence (AI) via video link. Experts from the two sides discussed the AI terminological framework and entries and exchanged views on the 8th round of the US-China Dialogue on AI and International Security.
