On September 28, 2025, the China Forum of the Center for International Security and Strategy (CISS) at Tsinghua University successfully hosted the China Forum · China-Russia Dialogue under the theme “The Future of China-Russia Relations.” The dialogue focused on the comprehensive strategic partnership of coordination for a new era between China and Russia and featured three discussion sessions: “An Equal and Orderly Multipolar World,” “Inclusive and Beneficial Economic Globalization,” and “Geopolitics and Information Warfare.” Experts and scholars from both countries engaged in in-depth exchanges around these topics.

On October 11, the Center for International Security and Strategy (CISS) at Tsinghua University successfully held a dialogue on “Trends and Agendas in China-Russia-U.S. Relations.” The discussion featured Prof. Oleg P. Ivanov, former Vice-Rector for Research and Professor of Political Science at the Diplomatic Academy of the Russian Foreign Ministry; Dr. Xu Wenhong, Associate Research Fellow at the Institute of Russian, Eastern European and Central Asian Studies of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and Deputy Secretary-General of the Belt and Road Research Center; together with Dr. Da Wei, Director of CISS; Dr. Song Bo, Assistant Research Fellow; and Dr. Wang Congyue, Postdoctoral Fellow and Assistant Research Fellow at CISS.

On October 15, 2025, the Center for International Security and Strategy (CISS) at Tsinghua University successfully held the “2025 U.S.-China Track II Dialogue.” The meeting was co-chaired by Da Wei, Director of CISS and Professor at the Department of International Relations at Tsinghua University, and Evan A. Feigenbaum, Vice President for Studies at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace.

New York, September 25, 2025 — At the invitation of the Minderoo Foundation, members of the CISS Project on Artificial Intelligence and International Security took part in the “Roundtable on Artificial Intelligence in Military” during the UN High-Level Week in New York. The event brought together scholars from leading institutions and think tanks—including Tsinghua University, Peking University, China University of Political Science and Law, the Brookings Institution, the United Nations Institute for Disarmament Research, the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, and New America—as well as government representatives from the United States, the United Kingdom, Kenya, Denmark, and other countries.

From September 4 to 6, 2025, Dr. Sun Chenghao, Fellow, and Niu Qiyang,Pre-Doctoral Fellow at the Center for International Security and Strategy (CISS), Tsinghua University, attended the 2025 Munich Young Leaders (MYL) Annual Meeting in Lisbon, Portugal.

From June 16 to 17, Sun Chenghao, Associate Research Fellow at the Center for International Security and Strategy (CISS) at Tsinghua University, was invited to attend a two-day workshop at the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI) in Sweden.

From July 2 to 4, the 13th World Peace Forum was successfully held in Beijing, co-hosted by Tsinghua University and the Chinese People’s Institute of Foreign Affairs. Themed “Building a Shared Future: Peace, Prosperity, and Cooperation,” this year’s forum featured four plenary sessions and 18 panel discussions. Topics included international order and world peace, global security challenges, the role of the Global South, and major-power coordination and conflict resolution.

In late May 2025, Niu Qiyang, Ph.D. Research Fellow at the Center for International Security and Strategy (CISS), completed a year-long fellowship with the Arms Control Negotiation Academy (ACONA) and was awarded the program’s Best Paper Prize. Representing the 2024–25 ACONA cohort, Niu spoke at the University of Iceland’s conference titled “New Domains Dialogue: Technology and Conflict in a Changing Geopolitical Order” in Reykjavik.

From June 26 to 27, 2025, the Center for International Security and Strategy (CISS) at Tsinghua University and the Penn Project on the Future of U.S.-China Relations at the University of Pennsylvania jointly hosted the “2025 Next Generation Dialogue on U.S.-China Relations” in Beijing. More than 40 scholars and experts from both China and the United States participated in the event, engaging in in-depth discussions on key issues in the bilateral relationship, including national security, research and education, climate and environment, human rights and global governance, and trade and economics.

​On June 24–25, 2025, Da Wei, Director of the Center for International Security and Strategy (CISS) at Tsinghua University, and Wen Jing, Postdoctoral Fellow at the Center, were invited to participate in the World Economic Forum’s Annual Meeting of the New Champions 2025 (Summer Davos Forum) held in Tianjin.

At the invitation of the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Centre for Humanitarian Dialogue (HD) in Switzerland, Da Wei, Director of the Center for International Security and Strategy (CISS) at Tsinghua University, and Niu Qiyang, PhD researcher at CISS, attended the 22nd Oslo Forum in Oslo, Norway, on June 11–12, 2025. This year’s forum was held under the theme “Cooperation in Conflict Mediation: Navigating a Changing World.”

From June 14 to 18, 2025, the inaugural Global South Economic Forum (GSEF 2025) was held in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates. Wen Jing, postdoctoral fellow and assistant researcher at the Strategic and Security Studies Center of Tsinghua University, and Director of Media Communication at the China Forum, was invited to attend as a representative Chinese scholar. She also chaired the sub-forum titled “Decolonizing Media Narratives: Empowering Voices and Perspectives.”
