On October 13, 2024, the Center for International Security and Strategy (CISS) of Tsinghua University held the 5th CISS Youth Meetup. CISS Organizes the 11th Round of the U.S.-China Dialogue on Artificial Intelligence and International Security

On October 7, 2024, the Center for International Security and Strategy (CISS) of Tsinghua University and the Brookings Institution co-hosted the 11th Round of the U.S.-China Dialogue on Artificial Intelligence and International Security in Venice, Italy. Colin Kahl, former United States Under Secretary of Defense for Policy, attended the event and delivered a speech. A total of more than 30 project team members from China and the U.S. participated in the Dialogue and engaged in in-depth discussions on topics related to AI and international security.

PUBLIC OPINION POLLS CHINESE OUTLOOK ON INTERNATIONAL SECURITY

In 2023, the Center for International Security and Strategy, Tsinghua University (CISS) conductedthe inaugural “Chinese Outlook on International Security” survey study. Through the investigation,we found some important takeaways. For example, we found that Chinese people are generallyoptimistic about international security, and that they are highly supportive of globalization andopening up to the world. More importantly, we discovered that through the survey, we may be able toprovide more information about China to the rest of the world, presenting a “filter-free” picture ofChina.

CISS and Carnegie Endowment for International Peace Hold “2024 U.S.-China Track Ⅱ Dialogue”

On September 26-27, 2024, the Center for International Security and Strategy (CISS) of Tsinghua University and the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace (CEIP) held the “2024 U.S.-China Track II Dialogue” at CISS. CISS Holds the Third Round of China-EU Dialogue on Artificial Intelligence and International Security

On September 8, 2024, the Center for International Security and Strategy (CISS) of Tsinghua University and the Centre for Humanitarian Dialogue (HD) held the third round of the China-EU Dialogue on Artificial Intelligence and International Security in Seoul, the Republic of Korea. Xiao Qian, Deputy Director of CISS, and Linda van der Horst, Senior Advisor of the Northeast Asia Program at HD, addressed the Dialogue. Both sides focused on scenario deduction and risk mitigation measures in military AI to carry out in-depth discussions and exchanges.
