On the afternoon of January 14, a delegation of the Governmental Affairs Department at BMW Group from its headquarters in Munich, Germany, visited the Center for International Security and Strategy (CISS), Tsinghua University. They held in-depth discussions with CISS experts and distinguished scholars on China-Germany cooperation, China-EU relations, and Trump’s return to power and put forward constructive opinions.

On December 24, Dmytro Yefremov, Associate Professor of the Department of International Relations, National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy, visited CISS and had a dialogue with CISS experts Da Wei, Zhou Bo, Song Bo, and Wang Congyue; Kang Jie, Deputy Director and Associate Research Fellow at the Department for European-Central Asian Studies, China Institute of International Studies; Wang Siyu, Assistant Research Fellow at the Shanghai Institute of Global Governance and Regional Countries, Shanghai International Studies University; and Shi Jing, Assistant Research Fellow at the Center for Eurasian Studies of the Institute for International and Area Studies, Tsinghua University, on “Future of the Ukraine Crisis.”

On January 3, a student delegation from the CUSEF x Columbia SIPA Initiative visited Tsinghua University and participated in the “Tsinghua & Columbia NextGen Dialogue” organized by the Center for International Security and Strategy (CISS) of Tsinghua University. Nearly 80 students from China and the US gathered to discuss the responsibilities and roles that Chinese and American youth should take and can play in promoting the development of bilateral relations.

On December 31, 2024, Ms.Xiao Qian, deputy director of the Center for International Security and Strategy (CISS), Tsinghua University, was asked to write an article in China Daily analyzing the results of the recently released Reagan Defense Survey. The article pointed out that in 2018, the US government positioned China as a "strategic competitor" and repeatedly stressed the "existential threat", which led to the serious bias of the American people's perception of China. The setting of the China-related question in the poll is also misleading to respondents. The article stressed that the future peaceful coexistence of China and the United States needs to rebuild mutual trust between the two sides. It is expected that the new US administration will adopt a pragmatic attitude toward China, remove obstacles to people-to-people exchanges, take measures to narrow the cognitive gap between the two sides, and cultivate healthy bilateral relations.

On December 13-14, 2024, the Center for International Security and Strategy (CISS) of Tsinghua University held the 2024 Year-End Situation Theory-Discussing Meeting under the theme of “Meeting Challenges, Achieving Transcendence.” More than 30 experts, including CISS Academic Committee members, experts, and fellows, were invited to the Meeting for discussion.

On December 12, 2024, the Center for International Security and Strategy , Tsinghua University (CISS) successfully held its the 25th CISS Youth's Book Club.This event featured a talk by Jeffrey Ding, an assistant professor of political science at George Washington University, who shared insights from his recent book, "Technology and the Rise of Great Powers: How Diffusion Shapes Economic Competition," published by Princeton University Press.

On the afternoon of November 18, 2024, Ollie Shiell, Chief Executive and Co-founding Director of the UK National Committee on China (UKNCC), and other representatives visited the Center for International Security and Strategy (CISS) of Tsinghua University. They had an in-depth discussion on China-UK relations and global hotspot topics with Da Wei, Director of CISS and Professor of the Department of International Relations, and other expert representatives.

On November 29, 2024, marking the first anniversary of the passing of former U.S. Secretary of State Henry Kissinger, Tsinghua University's Center for Strategic and Security Studies (CISS) and the National Committee on U.S.-China Relations (NCUSCR) jointly held a commemorative dinner in Beijing to honor Dr. Henry Kissinger historic contributions to Sino-U.S. relations and to promote the healthy and stable development of the relationship.

From November 20 to 23, 2024 U.S.-China People’s Dialogue: Charting a Path Forward was held in Beijing. The event was co-organized by the Center for International Security and Strategy (CISS) of Tsinghua University and the National Committee on U.S.-China Relations (NCUSCR).

On November 15-16, 2024, Professor Da Wei, the Center for International Security and Strategy (CISS) of Tsinghua University, was invited to Hong Kong to attend the U.S.-China Hong Kong Forum 2024, co-organized by the China-United States Exchange Foundation (CUSEF) and the China Center for International Economic Exchanges (CCIEE).

On the afternoon of November 7th, Alexander Nikitin, Director of the Center for Euro-Atlantic Security, Professor of the Department of Political Science Theory at the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO), and Vice-Chairman of the Pugwash Committee of the Presidium of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS), paid a visit to the Center for International Security and Strategy (CISS), Tsinghua University. The two sides discussed two themes: "Fortifying Changes in the Russian Nuclear Doctrine" and "World Powers and International Organizations in Asia - A View from Moscow".

On October 29, a delegation from AK Party Youth visited the Center for International Security and Strategy (CISS), Tsinghua University. The two sides held in-depth discussions on topics such as the current situation of international relations, Sino-Turkish cooperation and youth policy.
