On October 23, the 12th StratFocus Forum of the Center for International Security and Strategy (CISS) of Tsinghua University themed “Synergy between von der Leyen-led European Commission Trade Policy and Foreign Policy and its Dilemma” was held. Shi Yan, Fellow of CISS, was invited as the key speaker.

On June 27, the 11th StratFocus Forum of the Center for International Security and Strategy (CISS) of Tsinghua University themed “‘NATO-ization’ of the Asia-Pacific: Trends and Limitations” was held, where Ling Shengli, Deputy Director of the Institute of International Relations at China Foreign Affairs University, was invited as the key speaker, and Qiu Chaobing, Research Fellow of the Institute of American Studies under the Chinses Academy of Social Sciences, and Du Lan, Deputy Director and Associate Research Fellow of the Department for Asia-Pacific Studies of the China Institute of International Studies as panelists.

On the afternoon of June 2, the 10th StratFocus Forum of the Center for International Security and Strategy (CISS) of Tsinghua University was successfully held, with about 200 participants joining the forum online and offline.

​On the afternoon of April 14, the 9th StratFocus Forum of the Center for International Security and Strategy (CISS) of Tsinghua University was held in Conference Room 428B, Mingli Building, Tsinghua University, with about 200 participants joining the forum online. Featuring Jie Dalei, Associate Professor of the School of International Studies at Peking University, as the key speaker, the forum themed “The Ambiguity and Clarity of the U.S. Policy toward Taiwan.”

In the afternoon of October 28, the Center for International Security and Strategy (CISS) of Tsinghua University held the 6th StratFocus Forum in Conference Room 428B, Mingli Building, Tsinghua University, with more than 200 participants joining the event online.

Mao Keji gave an overview of China-India relations and the rise of India as a neighbor, a major power and a developing country.

Wang Dong pointed out four main perspectives, including the analysis of the theoretical framework of China-US relations, the evolution of US policy toward China, the basic logic behind Biden’s policy toward China after he took office and the policy recommendations in this regard.

In his keynote speech, Song Bo pointed out that there are two main frameworks for analyzing the logic of Russia’s overseas military operations: one is based on history and culture, and the other on military security. He also looked at the country’s “emotional attachment to Soviet Russia” and the personal factors of political strongmen.

In the afternoon of May 13, the Center for International Security and Strategy (CISS) of Tsinghua University held the 2nd StratFocus Forum, bringing together an online audience of over 200 people.

Entitled “Those in charge of the White House: the past and present of the National Security Council,” the event featured CISS Fellow SUN Chenghao as the key speaker, as well as XIAO He, associate fellow at the Institute of World Economics and Politics, and YANG Nan, assistant research fellow at the Institute of American Studies, both at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. The panelists explored the history, mechanism, role and limitations of the National Security Council (NSC). CISS Director DA Wei shared his comments on the discussion, which was moderated by XIAO Qian, deputy director of the Center.
