CISS Holds Seminar on “Recent Developments in Iran and the Trajectory of U.S.–Israel–Iran Relations”

On March 12, 2026, the Center for International Security and Strategy (CISS) at Tsinghua University held a seminar titled “Recent Developments in Iran and the Trajectory of U.S.–Israel–Iran Relations.” The event brought together more than ten experts and scholars from institutions including the China Institutes of Contemporary International Relations, the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, the China Foreign Affairs University, Ningxia University, and other academic organizations for in-depth discussions. The seminar opened with remarks by Professor Chen Qi, Deputy Director of CISS, and was moderated by Wen Jing, Postdoctoral Fellow and Assistant Researcher at CISS.

Focusing on the recent situation in Iran, participants conducted detailed analyses of the evolving dynamics of the U.S.–Israel–Iran conflict and its potential future trajectory. The discussion emphasized the logic and direction of strategic adjustments in the Middle East under the context of U.S. strategic retrenchment. Experts also engaged in comprehensive exchanges on the region' s complex and volatile security environment and explored feasible pathways for China' s diplomacy in the Middle East.
