Da Wei Publishes Article in Contemporary International Relations on China-U.S. Constructive Strategic Stability

2026-05-22

On May 14, 2026, during his meeting with visiting U.S. President Donald Trump, Chinese President Xi Jinping proposed defining the bilateral relationship as a “China-U.S. constructive strategic stability relationship,” a new positioning for China-U.S. relations that was endorsed by President Trump and formally confirmed by the White House.

To advance research and understanding of this important concept, Da Wei, Director of the Center for International Security and Strategy (CISS) and Professor in the Department of International Relations at Tsinghua University, together with Zhou Wuhua, a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of International Relations at Tsinghua University, jointly published an academic article titled “Exploring Constructive Strategic Stability: China-U.S. Relations in the Era of ‘Dual-Core Multipolarity'” in the May 2026 issue of Contemporary International Relations.
