Chinese Forum Expert Zhao Minghao Visits Vietnam for Exchange and Discussion
From November 3-5, 2025, Professor Zhao Minghao, China Forum Expert and Deputy Director of the Center for American Studies at Fudan University, attended the 17th International South China Sea Conference in Da Nang, Vietnam. The conference, themed "Standing Together in Uncertainty," was hosted by the Vietnam Academy of Foreign Affairs. Over 50 guests from more than 30 countries, including China, the United States, the Philippines, Russia, and the United Kingdom, participated and delivered speeches. Nguyen Manh Cuong, Member of the 13th Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, delivered the opening remarks. Ambassadors to Vietnam from Germany, Spain, Canada, and over 200 other attendees also participated in the conference.

Professor Zhao Minghao was invited to speak in the second session, "Strategic Ambiguity and Strategic Clarity of Major Powers," and engaged in discussions with experts from the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS, USA), the Institute of China and Contemporary Asia of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the ISEAS – Yusof Ishak Institute (Singapore), and the Centre for Eastern Studies (Poland). The session was moderated by Ambassador Pham Lan Dung, former President of the Vietnam Academy of Foreign Affairs and President of the Asian Society of International Law.

During the conference, Zhao Minghao also exchanged views with figures such as Nguyen Hung Son, President of the Vietnam Academy of Foreign Affairs, introducing China's development situation and foreign policy. Discussions covered topics such as strengthening think tank exchanges and cooperation, maintaining peace and stability in the Asia-Pacific region, and promoting common development. During his visit, Zhao Minghao also gave an interview with China Central Television (CCTV).
