On September 29, 2024, China Forum under the Center for International Security and Strategy (CISS) at Tsinghua University held the first edition of its China Forum – Face to Face series titled “The Path Forward for China-Africa Cooperation.”
Panelists explored issues such as the history and prospects of China-Africa cooperation, and China-Africa cooperation and great power relations in the global perspective. In the session, CISS fellow Dong Ting gave a comprehensive presentation on The Public Opinion Polls 2024 : Chinese Outlook on International Security.
Also among the panelists were Tang Xiaoyang, chair, Department of International Relations, Tsinghua University; Liu Haifang, associate professor, School of International Studies, Peking University; Zhang Yongpeng, research fellow, China-Africa Institute, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences; Mao Xiaojing, director, Institute for West Asian and African Studies, Chinese Academy of International Trade and Economic Cooperation, Ministry of Commerce; Zhou Bo, senior fellow, CISS; Vincent Ibonye, research fellow, Nigerian Institute of International Affairs; Wen Jing, director of international communication, China Forum; and Qian Jiatong, assistant, China Forum.
Opening remarks were delivered by CISS Chair Professor Da Wei, and Guo Jia, senior project manager at China Forum, and Tang Xiaoyang moderated the keynote speeches and panel sessions, respectively.
Representatives from The New York Times, Bloomberg, Agency Maghreb Arabe Press, Kyodo News, South China Morning Post, and the United Kingdom National Committee on China were invited to the event.
The China Forum – Face to Face series aim to serve as a bridge of communication between experts, scholars and media, so that China and the rest of world can better understand each other.
