On the morning of September 10, the Center for International Security and Strategy (CISS) of Tsinghua University and the Institute for AI International Governance (I-AIIG) of Tsinghua University co-organized the 75th session of the Forum on Security and Strategy -Seminar on "Global AI Governance and Cooperation." More than ten experts and scholars from Tsinghua University, Peking University, China Institutes of Contemporary International Relations (CICIR), Shanghai Institutes for International Studies (SIIS), Beijing Normal University (BNU), National University of Defense Technology (NUDT), Tencent Research Institute, and 360 Group were invited to discuss and exchange ideas.

Experts at the seminar had a fruitful discussion on the ways of China's participation in global AI governance and cooperation and the competition and cooperation between China and the U.S. on AI governance. Combining their research fields, the participating experts conducted in-depth analyses from both academic and policy perspectives, discussed topics such as how to build an international mechanism for global AI governance and how to form governance rules and a normative framework that can receive broad consensus, and exchanged views on the challenges of diversification of AI governance needs, insufficient supply of governance knowledge, and uncertainty in governance paths.
