"THE 91st SECURITY AND STRATEGY SEMINAR" :CISS Holds Seminar on "Maritime Security and Trans-Pacific Shipping Cooperation"

On the morning of May 22, the Center for International Security and Strategy (CISS) at Tsinghua University successfully held the 91st Security and Strategy Seminar, focusing on “Maritime Security and Trans-Pacific Shipping Cooperation.” The seminar was co-organized with the National Strategy Institute of Shanghai Jiao Tong University and was moderated by Dr. Dong Ting, Fellow of CISS, Tsinghua University. Scholars and experts from 16 institutions—including Peking University, Tsinghua University, Renmin University of China, Shanghai Maritime University, Dalian Maritime University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, as well as enterprises and analytical organizations from Beijing, Guangzhou, and Ningbo—joined the discussions.

Participants held in-depth discussions on key issues in the field of international maritime shipping. The seminar explored policy divergences among countries in the shipping sector and their implications, and analyzed the complex effects of different strategies on industry development. Experts also examined recent developments across the maritime supply chain and proposed recommendations such as optimizing industrial structures and deepening international cooperation. They agreed that actively addressing current challenges will contribute to greater stability and sustainability in the global maritime system.
