On December 19, 2025, the Center for International Security and Strategy (CISS) hosted a roundtable seminar on the situation on the Korean Peninsula. More than 20 experts and scholars from China and the Republic of Korea participated in in-depth exchanges and discussions on key issues including developments on the Korean Peninsula, security risks, and regional cooperation.

The Chinese participants included Da Wei, Director of CISS and Professor in the Department of International Relations at Tsinghua University; Zhang Tuosheng, Academic Committee Member of CISS; Zhou Bo, Research Fellow at CISS and Distinguished Expert of the China Forum; Wu Riqiang, Professor in the Department of International Relations at Tsinghua University; Li Tingting, Deputy Director of the Center for Korean Peninsula Studies at Peking University and Associate Professor at the School of Foreign Languages; and Sun Chenghao, Associate Research Fellow at CISS.
The participants from the Republic of Korea included Kim Hyung-jin, Visiting Research Fellow at the Institute for Future Strategy of Seoul National University and former Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to the European Union; Lee Sang-gyu, Director of the Nuclear Security Research Division at the Korea Institute for Defense Analyses (KIDA); Hwang Ji-hwan, Professor at Seoul National University; Cho Bi-gyeon, Research Fellow at the Center for Security and Strategy of the Sejong Institute; Kim Dae-sik, Director-General of the Division for Future Planning of the Korean Peninsula at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea; and Ryu In-sik, Minister-Counsellor for Political Affairs at the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in China.
