On September 9, 2025, Daniel Leaf, former Deputy Commander of the U.S. Pacific Command, visited the Center for International Security and Strategy (CISS) at Tsinghua University for discussions with CISS experts on U.S.-China relations and regional hotspot issues.
The meeting was attended by Zhang Tuosheng, Academic Committee Member of CISS; Zhou Bo, Senior Fellow Fellow of CISS; and Song Bo, Fellow of CISS. The participants exchanged views on the current international landscape and security challenges in the Asia-Pacific region. They emphasized that military communication and cooperation between China and the United States are essential for reducing misunderstandings, lowering the risk of conflict, and jointly addressing global security challenges.
