On June 24–25, 2025, Da Wei, Director of the Center for International Security and Strategy (CISS) at Tsinghua University, and Wen Jing, Postdoctoral Fellow at the Center, were invited to participate in the World Economic Forum’s Annual Meeting of the New Champions 2025 (Summer Davos Forum) held in Tianjin.
Against the backdrop of ongoing geopolitical turbulence and major shifts in the global economic landscape, this year’s Summer Davos—an important platform for global economic dialogue—drew significant attention from government, business, and academic representatives around the world. On the morning of June 25, Chinese Premier Li Qiang attended the opening ceremony and delivered remarks. Leaders from several countries, including Singaporean Prime Minister Lawrence Wong and Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, also delivered speeches and joined discussions on topics such as “Asia’s Economic Development and Cooperation.”
During the forum, Da Wei was invited to participate in multiple sessions, including "Geopolitical Risks," "Geo-economic Realities," and "China-Japan-South Korea Cooperation in East Asia", where he engaged in discussions on current trends and developments in international politics and the global economy. In addition, Da Wei held bilateral meetings with members of the World Economic Forum's leadership as well as with representatives from Chinese and international companies, and gave interviews to select media outlets.
