Brookings Institution Delegation Visits CISS

On April 3, a delegation from the Brookings Institution visited the Center for International Security and Strategy (CISS) at Tsinghua University. The two sides held in-depth discussions on a range of topics, including the current international landscape, China-U.S. people-to-people exchanges, artificial intelligence, and recent U.S. tariff measures against global trade partners.

The visiting Brookings experts included Suzanne Maloney, Vice President of the Brookings Institution; Ryan Hass, Director of the John L. Thornton China Center; Ryan McElveen, Deputy Director of the China Center; Jon Czin, Research Fellow; Patricia Kim, Research Fellow; Allie Mattias, Research Fellow; Margaret M. Pearson, Visiting Senior Fellow; Michelle Caruso-Cabrera and Chuck Mattera, Members of the Brookings Foreign Policy Leadership Council; Antoine van Agtmael, Member of the Brookings Board of Trustees; and Andy Zhang, Member of the Advisory Council of the Brookings China Center.

The meeting was chaired by Da Wei, Director of CISS and Professor at the Department of International Relations at Tsinghua University. Participants from CISS included Deputy Director Xiao Qian, who also serves as Dean of Office of International Affairs, Vice Dean of the Institute for AI International Governance (I-AIIG), Tsinghua University; Fellow Dong Ting ,Sun Chenghao,Song Bo and Shi Yan and Postdoc Fellow Xu Jialun.
