On December 20, the Center for International Security and Strategy (CISS) of Tsinghua University held the 80th Security and Strategy Seminar on “Theory and Practice of China’s People-to-People Diplomacy in the New Era.” The event saw the participation of eight experts and scholars from institutions such as Tsinghua University, Peking University, Chongyang Institute for Financial Studies at the Renmin University of China (RDCY), Academy of Contemporary China and World Studies (ACCWS), China-United States Exchange Foundation (CUSEF), China Institute of International Studies (CIIS), National Institute for South China Sea Studies (NISCSS), and Center for China and Globalization (CCG). The Seminar was held online and offline and Da Wei, Director of CISS, moderated the Seminar and delivered a speech.
Participating experts made keynote speeches on the definition, connotation, and extension of people-to-people diplomacy, opportunities and challenges faced by China’s people-to-people diplomacy in the new era, and suggestions for doing a good job of people-to-people diplomacy under the new situation, and made in-depth analyses and full discussions on the specific practices of localities, think tanks, enterprises, media, and social organizations in the field of people-to-people diplomacy.
