The 9th "China Forum Face-to-Face Dialogue" Successfully Held

On January 15, 2026, the China Forum of the Center for International Security and Strategy (CISS) at Tsinghua University hosted its 9th "China Forum Face-to-Face Dialogue." The event centered on the release of the CISS report, 2025 PUBLIC OPINION SURVEY REPORT-CHINESE OUTLOOK ON INTERNATIONAL SECURITY.

The dialogue featured experts from the Carter Center and the Chicago Council on Global Affairs, alongside representatives from major international media outlets. Da Wei, Director of CISS and Professor at Tsinghua University, opened the session. CISS Fellow Dong Ting presented the survey’s core findings, while Wen Jing, CISS Postdoctoral Fellow and Media Director of the China Forum, moderated the discussion.

Key speakers included Liu Yawei (Carter Center), Nick Zeller (US-China Perception Monitor), and Dina Smeltz (Chicago Council on Global Affairs), who shared their respective polling data and engaged in an in-depth discussion on methodology and findings with the CISS team. Media attendees included representatives from the Financial Times, Der Spiegel, Bloomberg, O Globo, Rossiya Segodnya, Asahi Shimbun, NHK, Lianhe Zaobao, and South China Morning Post.

Public Opinion Survey Report-Chinese Public Opinion on International Security is an annual survey series launched by CISS in 2023, designed to provide a consistent and objective look at how the Chinese public perceives global security issues.
