From July to early August 2025, Sun Chenghao, Associate Research Fellow at the Center for International Security and Strategy (CISS) of Tsinghua University, was invited to undertake a short-term visiting study at the Centre for Humanitarian Dialogue (HD) in Switzerland. During his stay, he engaged in discussions with HD researchers and policy advisors on issues including international security, conflict mediation, China–U.S.–Europe relations, and artificial intelligence.
While in Switzerland, Sun also met with researchers from the China Policy Lab at the University of Oxford and the Oxford Martin Programme on AI Governance, who were attending the 2025 AI for Good Global Summit. In addition, he visited researchers at the World Economic Forum to exchange views on China–U.S. relations, artificial intelligence, and related topics.
Drawing on his own research in China–U.S.–Europe relations, AI governance, and Track II diplomacy, Sun shared China’s policy positions and research progress on relevant issues, fostering mutual understanding and promoting future cooperation.
