At the invitation of the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS) in London, Professor DA Wei, Director of the Center for International Security and Strategy (CISS) at Tsinghua University, and ZHOU Bo, CISS Research Fellow and China Forum Special Expert, attended the 22nd Shangri-La Dialogue in Singapore from May 30 to June 1.
During the forum, Professor DA and Mr. ZHOU participated in the plenary sessions as well as selected breakout discussions. Professor DA Wei also held a meeting with K. Shanmugam, Singapore’s Minister for Home Affairs and Minister for Law in charge of national security coordination. Together, Professor DA and Mr. ZHOU met with Chinese Ambassador to Singapore Cao Zhongming and held discussions with officials from Singapore's Ministry of Defence.
In response to unfounded accusations from certain Western countries, DA Wei and ZHOU Bo actively engaged in public discourse to articulate China's positions and refute misinformation. They gave interviews to international and domestic media outlets, including the Financial Times, BBC, The Washington Post, The New York Times, Deutsche Welle, China Central Television (CCTV), and Xinhua News Agency.
