From March 10 to 15, Da Wei, Director of the Center for International Security and Strategy (CISS) of Tsinghua University, and Sun Chenghao, Fellow of CISS, led Li Dancheng and Guan Shiqian of CISS Youth to Washington and New York, visited US government agencies, think tanks and universities, and conducted more than 20 research and discussion sessions on topics related to the current China-US relations.

During its stay in Washington, the delegation visited the Stimson Center, Center for Strategic and International Studies, Brookings Institution, Eurasia Group, United States Institute of Peace, US-China Business Council, Center for Naval Analyses, Center for a New American Security, JPMorgan Chase & Co., US-China Education Trust, governmental departments, etc., and exchanged views on the trend of the current US strategy towards China, the opportunities and challenges of the China-US relations, and other topics. The delegation also traveled to Johns Hopkins University to conduct discussions with Chinese overseas students there while learning about their studies and life in the US.
Center for Naval Analyses
The delegation also called on Jing Quan, Chargé d'Affaires of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in the United States of America, to discuss the current situation of China-US relations. Jing Quan emphasized the important role played by think tanks in China-US relations and encouraged CISS Youth members to earnestly study and devote themselves to the cause of major country diplomacy with Chinese characteristics in the new era.

During its stay in New York, the delegation visited the National Committee on American Foreign Policy, Council on Foreign Relations, Asia Society, Rhodium Group, and National Committee on U.S.-China Relations to continue in-depth exchanges on topics related to China-US relations.

With a tight schedule, this visit to the US led to fruitful exchanges with various sectors in the US. It was also the first time that CISS Youth members have gone to the US to conduct policy research and academic dialogues, speak out the voices of Chinese youth, and demonstrate the spirit of Chinese youth.
