On the morning of July 7, 2026, Scott Dewar, Ambassador of Australia to China, together with Mark Sawers, Minister-Counsellor (Political) at the Australian Embassy in China, Erny Wah, Minister-Counsellor (Political) at the Australian Embassy in China, Oliver Mendoza, First Secretary (Political), and Nicholas Burkett, Second Secretary, visited the Center for International Security and Strategy (CISS), Tsinghua University.

Chinese Participants included Da Wei, Director of CISS; Dong Ting, Associate Fellow at CISS; Guo Jia, Director of International Cooperation and Exchange at CISS; and Luo Shengjun, Research Assistant at CISS.
The two sides engaged in exchanges and discussions on topics including China-U.S. relations, China-Australia relations, and global governance of artificial intelligence.
