On May 28, a delegation from The Carter Center visited the Center for International Security and Strategy (CISS), Tsinghua University. The two sides held in-depth discussions on building a constructive strategic stability relationship between China and the United States as well as regional hotspot issues.

At the beginning of the meeting, Da Wei, Director of CISS, introduced the Center's major research priorities and its international exchange and cooperation initiatives. Chinese and American participants exchanged views on the opportunities and challenges facing China-U.S. relations, bilateral trade and investment cooperation, and prospects for collaboration in areas including artificial intelligence, climate, and clean energy. Participants generally agreed that both sides should continue to explore the potential for cooperation at both the bilateral and global governance levels and translate the outcomes of the leaders' summit into concrete actions that promote a stable and sustainable China-U.S. relationship.
