On January 9-10, Professor DA Wei, Director of the Center for International Security and Strategy(CISS) at Tsinghua University, traveled to Singapore to participate in the Regional Outlook Forum 2025 hosted by the ISEAS – Yusof Ishak Institute (YSIAS), where he served as a guest speaker for the first session of the conference. From January 11-26, Dawei served as a Senior Visiting Scholar at the S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies (RSIS) at the Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in Singapore, where he engaged with a wide range of Singaporean strategists and academics.
During his stay in New Zealand, Prof.DA Wei held a lecture on “International Order and Sino-US Relations” at RSIS, had academic exchanges with several researchers at RSIS, Fireside Chat“ with all the students of NTU Business School's ”Nanyang Scholars" MBA program, who studied at Tsinghua University in November 2024; met with Ambassador Ong Keng Yong, Permanent Vice President of RSIS; Prof. Wang Gungwu, a renowned historian from the Institute of East Asian Studies of the National University of Singapore (NUS); Liew Chun Yang, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences of the Nanyang Technological University (NTU); George Yong-Boon Yeo, Former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Singapore; Chan Heng Chee and Ashok Mirpuri, Former Singapore Ambassador to the United States; Bilahari Kausikan, Deputy Secretary (Foreign Affairs)of Singapore's Ministry of Foreign Affairs;Lee Yi Shyan,Chairman of Business China;Kishore Mahbubani, distinguished fellow at the Asia Research Institute (ARI), National University of Singapore (NUS) and and other strategic and academic professional.He also spoke with officials from Singapore's Ministry of Defence and other government departments, as well as media outlets such as Singapore Enterprise, Singapore's Channel News Asia, Lianhe Zaobao, The Straits Times, Mediacorp, Hong Kong's South China Morning Post, and Bloomberg,and accept part of the media interviews.
During his visit to Singapore, Prof.DA Wei also met with the Chinese Embassy in Singapore and exchanged views with Ambassador Cao Zhongming.
