CISS Discusses and Exchanges Views with the Embassy of Pakistan in China

On the morning of June 15, H.E. Mr. Moin ul Haque, Pakistan’s Ambassador to China, Mr. Muhammad Kamran Taj, Political Counsellor, Ms. Nasreen Fatima, Counsellor, and Ms. Rabbia Nasir, Second Secretary, visited the Center for International Security and Strategy (CISS) of Tsinghua University. Da Wei, Director of CISS met with the delegation. Li Li, Researcher of the Institute of International Relations of Tsinghua University, and CISS Fellow Sun Chenghao attended the meeting.

Professor Da Wei introduced to Ambassador Moin ul Haque an overview of CISS and its research programs. The two sides exchanged views on topics such as China-U.S. relations, regional security of South Asia, and the Global South. Both sides believed that China and Pakistan should properly handle the relations with neighboring countries and avoid the spread of major-power competition to South Asia, given the current complex international situation. At the same time, both sides highly praised the fruitful achievements of China-Pakistan relations and looked forward to further cooperation between the two countries in the fields of economy, trade, science and technology, culture, and education in the future.
