On the morning of May 6, the Center for International Security and Strategy (CISS) at Tsinghua University held the 90th session of its Security and Strategy Seminar, themed “Assessing and Responding to the Current State of China-U.S. Relations.” The seminar was chaired by Professor Da Wei, Director of CISS and Professor at the Department of International Relations at Tsinghua University. It brought together 20 experts and scholars from institutions including Tsinghua University, Renmin University of China, Beijing Foreign Studies University, the University of International Business and Economics, the Academy of Military Sciences, the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, and the Chinese Academy of International Trade and Economic Cooperation under the Ministry of Commerce.
Participants engaged in in-depth discussions on several core issues, including the complexities of current China-U.S. relations and their strategic implications for China, the future trajectory of bilateral ties, the driving forces and direction of change in the international order, and how China can respond strategically and break through in the evolving dynamic between China and the United States.
