DIAO Daming

Diao Daming is a Professor and Ph.D. Supervisor at the School of International Studies, Renmin University of China, where he also serves as the Chair of the Department of Diplomacy. He is the Deputy Director of the Center for American Studies at Renmin University and a Specially Appointed Research Fellow at the National Academy of Development and Strategy at Renmin University. Previously, he served as the Assistant Director of the Center for U.S.-China Relations at Tsinghua University (2010–2015) and an Assistant Research Fellow at the Institute of American Studies, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (2012–2017).

Professor Diao's research focuses on U.S. politics and foreign policy, U.S.-China relations, and comparative politics. At Renmin University, he teaches undergraduate and graduate courses, including "Introduction to U.S. Politics" (Undergraduate), "Major Controversial Issues in U.S. Politics" (Graduate), "Special Topics on the U.S. Congress" (Graduate), and "Introduction to U.S.-China Relations" (Undergraduate). He is also a Nonresident Senior Fellow at the Center for International Security and Strategy (CISS) at Tsinghua University and serves as an editorial board member for the journal International Political Science.

Professor Diao earned his LL.B. (2005) and LL.M. (2007) degrees, as well as a Ph.D. in Management (2010) from the Zhou Enlai School of Government at Nankai University. He has also been a visiting scholar at the Mansfield Center of the University of Montana (2008), the Asia-Pacific Center for Security Studies (2011), and the U.S.-China Institute at the University of Oklahoma (2014).
