From May 29 to 31, 2024, the AI for Good Global Summit was held in Geneva, Switzerland. Xiao Qian, Deputy Director of CISS of Tsinghua University, and Sun Chenghao, Fellow of CISS, attended the Summit, where they met and exchanged ideas with representatives from the Institute for the Ethics in Artificial Intelligence at the Technical University of Munich, Globethics, and UNU Macau.
On May 31, “WSIS+20: Inclusive AI for a Better World, Through Cross-Cultural and Multi-Generational Dialogue” was successfully held at the International Telecommunication Union. Hosted by Globethics, it explored how to promote more inclusive artificial intelligence (AI) for interdisciplinary collaboration and ethical practice. Xiao Qian was invited to give a speech. She first introduced the application cases of AI in teaching, pointing out that the proper use of AI can empower the high-quality development of education. A general survey of the current global AI situation reveals the great impact of geopolitics, and that geopolitical tensions may divide AI development. Therefore, it is necessary to build a flexible and inclusive policy framework to regulate AI and timely update relevant policies based on the iterative development of technologies, so as to benefit mankind with more inclusive AI.
