On October 12, 2022, a seminar titled “Asia-Pacific and China-Japan-ROK Relations: Navigating the Changing Global Dynamics” was held in a hybrid format by the Center for International Security and Strategy (CISS) of Tsinghua University, the Institute of Japanese Studies of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) and the Center for East China Sea Research of CASS, with support from the National Institute of International Strategy of CASS. The event featured 24 experts and scholars from universities and think tanks in China, Japan and South Korea. Director of the CASS Institute of Japanese Studies Yang Bojiang and CISS Director Da Wei made opening and closing remarks respectively.

The discussion was focused on three topics: “Changing Global Dynamics and Order in the Asia-Pacific,” “China-Japan, China-ROK and ROK-Japan Relations at a Historic Point” and “China-Japan-ROK Cooperation and Prospects for Northeast Asia.” The panelists explored the opportunities and paths of cooperation between China, Japan and South Korea, and agreed that the three countries should strengthen their dialogue, political mutual trust as well as trade and economic cooperation, actively develop friendly and cooperative ties with each other, and join hands to promote peace, stability and development in the Asia-Pacific and beyond.
