On January 19, a team of PBS FRONTLINE, led by its producer Martin Smith, visited China Forum of the Center for International Security and Strategy (CISS) at Tsinghua University. The two sides exchanged views on media communication and FRONTLINE’s upcoming documentary on US-China relations. Among the Chinese panellists were Zhang Lirong, secretary general of China Forum; Zhou Bo, senior fellow at CISS; Gong Jiong, vice president for research at UIBE Israel; and Cui Hongjian, director of the Center for EU and Regional Development of Beijing Foreign Studies University.

In his 40 years as a producer and correspondent, Smith has covered the world: from revolution in Central America, the rise of al-Qaeda, and the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
