On September 7, Professor Gong Jiong, a China Forum expert and vice president for research at UIBE Israel, was invited to discuss the latest ASEAN Summit and China-ASEAN relations on Asharq News.

Speaking of territorial disputes between China and some ASEAN countries, Professor Gong said that the issue itself is not scary despite the sensitivity it carries, but it would be complicated by external interferences and the establishment of military blocs by certain countries, which would fuel regional tensions. The lesson we learned from Asia’s anti-colonialism history is that Asian problems should be solved by Asian countries themselves, said Gong.
