China Forum Hosts Dialogue Among the Wise on Afghanistan

On June 9, China Forum under Tsinghua University’s Center for International Security and Strategy (CISS) held Dialogue Among the Wise: Briefing Seminar on the Situation in Afghanistan.

Da Wei, vice chair of China Forum and director of CISS, made opening remarks and moderated the event. Addressing the Afghan issue will have profound implications for the regional and for international relations, said Professor Da, adding that China Forum will continue to follow the developments in international affairs and is committed to sharing China’s perspectives with the world and promoting international engagement.

Yue Xiaoyong, special envoy on Afghan affairs of China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and a China Forum expert, delivered a keynote speech, in which he presented a detailed analysis on China’s policies and action initiatives on Afghanistan, the current situation in the country, relevant regional and international interactions, and the outlook for resolving the Afghan issue.

In his closing remarks, Zhang Lirong, secretary general of China Forum, introduced the newly launched “China Forum · Dialogue Among the Wise” series, which will focus on the international situation and international relations, and serve to deepen the understanding of relevant issues and policies through dialogue.
