The panelists deep dived into the challenges and opportunities for China-Europe relations and ways to promote its stable development. Despite setbacks in their bilateral ties due to great power competition and geopolitical conflicts, China and Europe still have strong shared interests and responsibilities in safeguarding world peace and development, said Professor Zhao Minghao. He called on European countries to look at China’s prospects and its role in an objective way and properly handle the influence of the American factor on their ties with China. He also responded to the concerns of his fellow panelists by stressing that China is committed to promoting the peaceful resolution of the Ukraine crisis, which requires stakeholders to meet each other halfway.

China’s largest civil society organization on promoting peace, CPAPD maintains ties with over 300 peace organizations and research institutions in more than 100 countries, and is an outreach member of the United Nations Department of Public Information.
