The seminar was moderated by Mattia Marino, CEO of Ambrosetti in China. During the session on “China and the World: Building a New World Balance,” Professor Huang Renwei pointed out that the role of the Belt and Road in rebalancing the world economy will be even more important as China and relevant regions grow to serve as the main drivers of future economic growth.

In another session themed “A Look Ahead: China’s Economy in the Post-Pandemic Era,” Eric Li noted that China’s capital regulatory actions have demonstrated its strong determination and ability to correct market distortions and prevent disorderly capital expansion. The “winner-takes-all” growth driven by business model innovation is unsustainable, and what China needs in the future are technological innovation-driven “hard tech” industries, such as semiconductors, life sciences, and high-end manufacturing. The Chinese market remains extremely attractive to foreign investors as these sectors have shown encouraging growth potentials.
