Zhang Baijia is a historian of History of Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and China’s foreign affairs. He was Vice-Director of Party History Research Centre attached to The Central Committee of CPC, and elected as Representative of the 11th National Congress and Member of the Legal Committee of the National People’s Congress from 2008 to 2013, Member of the Academic Committee of the Institute of Modern History, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences; Member of the Academic Committee of the China Foundation for International Strategic Studies. He has published many books and articles, such as Research on the Fundamental Thread of China’s Diplomacy in 20th Century, Through History, Analyzing the Changes in China and the United States -- Some Current Thoughts on the Relationship Between the Two Countries, History of Reform and Opening Up in China, the Path of the CPC: Revolution, Construction and Reform.
