He is also Vice Chairman of Chinese Association of International relations, Chairman of Shanghai Association For American Studies，Senior fellow of Cross Strait Research Center，

He published many books and articles on Global governance, Sino-US relations, Belt and Road Initiatives, International trade and Cross Strait relations.  His books including The Time and Space of China’s Rise (2002) have been widely quoted; and participated in many track II strategic dialogues between China and US.
