What is discourse power, especially in the context of political science and international order?

Has China’s discourse power been rising in today’s world? And more importantly, what should China and the U.S. do in the face of widening distance and increasing friction between the two countries？ 

Here with us today is Professor Rachel Hulvey from Indiana University, who is also a postdoctoral fellow at the Harvard Belfer International Security and Columbia-Harvard China and the World programs. Prof. Hulvey will share with us her impression of conducting academic interviews in China and help us better understand discourse power in international politics.
