On January 14, 2022, the Center for International Security and Strategy (CISS) of Tsinghua University held its 26th Security and Strategy Seminar themed “Peace and Development: New Connotations in a New Era”. The meeting was moderated by CISS Director DA Wei and Deputy Director XIAO Qian.

On January 13, 2022, the Center for International Security and Strategy (CISS) of Tsinghua University and China Forum jointly organized the 25th Security and Strategy Seminar themed “The Changing Landscape of Afghanistan and Its Impact”.

On January 6, 2022, the Center for International Security and Strategy (CISS) of Tsinghua University and China Forum jointly organized the 24th Security and Strategy Seminar which focused on the present and future of China-Europe relations.

On December 14, 2021, the Center for International Security and Strategy (CISS) of Tsinghua University held its 22nd Security and Strategy Seminar, which focused on the Summit for Democracy hosted by the United States. The seminar was moderated by CISS Director DA Wei.

On September 22, 2021, the Center for International Security and Strategy (CISS) of Tsinghua University held its 20th Security and Strategy Seminar, which focused on AUKUS, a trilateral security pact between Australia, the United Kingdom and the United States. Moderated by CISS Fellow ZHOU Bo, the event brought together experts and scholars from Tsinghua University, Peking University, China People’s Liberation Army National Defense University, Party School of the Central Committee of CPC, Academy of Military Sciences and other universities and research institutions to discuss the dynamics and impact of AUKUS on China and to explore corresponding policy recommendations. Experts from the Policy Planning Department and the Department of North American and Oceanian Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China were invited as well.

On September 3, 2021, the Center for International Security and Strategy (CISS) at Tsinghua University held its 19th Security and Strategy Seminar themed “Afghanistan after the US Withdrawal: Opportunities, Challenges and Responses,” convening more than 20 participants, including CISS academic committee members, fellows and invited experts.

On August 27, 2021, the Center for International Security and Strategy (CISS) at Tsinghua University held its 18th Security and Strategy Symposium & Mid-Year Seminar themed “A Look Ahead: China’s Relations with the Rest of the World in the Post-Pandemic Era,” convening more than 30 participants, including members of the CISS academic committee, CISS fellows and invited experts.

On November 7, 2020, the Center for International Security and Strategy (CISS), Tsinghua University, held its 15th Security and Strategy Seminar themed “U.S.-China Relations after the U.S. Election.” The virtual event brought together more than 20 CISS Fellows and guest speakers (list attached).

On September 27, 2020, the Center for International Security and Strategy, Tsinghua University (CISS), held its 14th Security and Strategy Seminar titled “China-India Relations amid Great-Power Competition and Responses to Neighboring Geopolitical Challenges.” The event brought together around 20 CISS Fellows and guests (list attached) in a mixture of virtual and face-to-face discussion.

On April 17, Center for International Security and Strategy (CISS) at Tsinghua University held its 10th Weekend Forum on Strategy and Security—Seminar on the Security and Stability of the Global Industrial Chain Due to the Impact of the Covid-19 Pandemic. It was co-chaired by FU Ying, chair of CISS, together with CHEN Xiaogong and YAO Yunzhu, both Academic Committee members of CISS. A panel of over 20 attendees joined the seminar including CISS Academic Committee members, research fellows, and special guests (list attached).

On April 7, 2020, the online Seminar on US Army Operations and the Situation in the South China Seawas jointly hosted by Tsinghua University’s Center for International Security and Strategy (CISS), China Forum, and Peking University’s Center for Maritime Strategy Studies (CMSS). This is also the 9th Weekend Forum on Security and Strategy of CISS.

On March 22, the CISS hosted an webinar on China’s Image and Communication to the World in the New Era.

COVID-19 outbreak has not only posed a great threat to the health of the Chinese people, but also impacted the international situation from the economic, political, security and ecological perspectives.
