主讲人：Paul G. Clifford，哈佛大学肯尼迪政府学院非驻校高级研究员

Paul G. Clifford博士现任哈佛大学肯尼迪政府学院非驻校高级研究员，同时担任保罗・G・克利福德联合咨询公司（Paul G. Clifford & Associates）总裁。他也是美国外交政策协会荣誉会士、伦敦国王学院中国研究所外聘研究员，还任职于英国中国问题全国委员会人工智能治理探索对话指导委员会。

1973-1974年，Paul G. Clifford博士首次以留学生身份在华生活。此后，他曾长期在华工作：先后就职于美国第一芝加哥国民银行（现归属摩根大通集团）、奥纬咨询，以及美国科技企业思科系统公司。在思科任职期间，他通过与国家开发银行建立战略联盟，主导制定了思科在华智能互联城市领域的发展战略。

Paul G. Clifford博士在对华物流领域拥有深厚经验：他曾带领咨询团队，为多家中国大型国有物流企业提供重组与战略规划咨询服务；同时也为外国物流企业制定中国市场进入策略提供专业建议。此外，他还协助在华外国投资者解决跨多个行业的供应链问题，并为中外客户就中国铁路、多式联运、航运及城市公共交通领域提供咨询服务。他曾当选为中国物流与采购联合会常务理事。

Paul G. Clifford博士还是《中国悖论：站在经济转型的前沿》（The China Paradox: At the Front Line of Economic Transformation）一书的作者，该书记录了中国经济改革 40 年的发展历程。

Paul G. Clifford博士毕业于伦敦大学亚非学院，获现代中国史博士学位，且曾在北京大学学习。他曾在墨西哥、英国及美国的多所高校担任教职，中文流利。

Dr. Paul G. Clifford is Non-resident Senior Fellow at Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government. He is President of the management consultants Paul G. Clifford & Associates. He is an Honorary Fellow of the Foreign Policy Association and External Associate, Lau China Institute, King’s College London. He is a member of the Steering Committee of the AI Governance Pathfinder Dialogue at the UK National Committee on China. 

He first lived in China as a student in 1973-74. After that he worked in China as a corporate banker with The First National Bank of Chicago (now JP Morgan Chase), with strategy consultants Oliver Wyman and with US technology firm Cisco Systems where he was driving strategy in China on smart and connected cities, through a strategic alliance with China Development Bank. 

He has deep experience in China’s logistics. He led consulting teams that advised a number of China’s largest state-owned logistics firms on their restructuring and strategic planning. He has also advised foreign logistics providers on their China market entry strategy. He has supported foreign investors in China on their supply chain issues across a wide range of sectors. He has also consulted to foreign and Chinese clients on China’s railways, intermodal transportation, shipping and public urban transportation. He was elected as Executive Director of the China Federation of Logistics & Purchasing. 

He is also the author of the book The China Paradox: At the Front Line of Economic Transformation, which profiles the 40 years of China’s economic reforms.

He studied at the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London, where he received a Ph.D. in modern Chinese history, and at Peking University. He has taught at universities in Mexico, the UK and the US. He is fluent in Chinese.

Vasilis Trigkas是清华大学“一带一路”战略研究院的研究员，也是希腊国际关系委员会的当选成员。他是Parallel Lives: Themistocles, Deng Xiaoping and the Rise of Great Powers（即将出版，Hurst Publishers / Oxford University Press）和Unravelling the Thucydides Trap: Grand Strategy and China-US Relations（希腊语，Diavlos Publishers，2023）的合著者。Vasilis的研究和教学涵盖三个主要领域：战略研究和领导力，尤其是中国和希腊经典；国际安全与中国大战略，强调地缘经济学；中美欧三方关系。此前，Vasilis曾担任清华大学中欧关系研究中心研究员、哥伦比亚大学欧洲研究所访问学者、太平洋论坛CSIS非常驻Handa研究员和青年领袖。Vasilis还为欧盟驻美国代表团、北京清华-卡内基全球政策中心和雅典大学让·莫内卓越中心做过研究。在清华大学，他率先发起了设立希腊和欧洲研究访问教席的倡议，这是对中欧人文交流的贡献，并得到了欧盟研究与创新专员的认可。Vasilis的作品曾在各种学术期刊和媒体上发表，包括《当代中国学报》《中国国际政治学报》《全球政策杂志》《政治学季刊》《外交家》和《南华早报》等。他的贡献还出现在布里斯托尔大学出版社、Springer, 和Emerald的刊物中。Vasilis作为奥纳西斯学者在清华大学完成了政治学博士学位。

Vasilis Trigkas is a research fellow at Tsinghua’s Belt and Road Strategy Institute, and an elected member of the Council of International Relations Greece. He is the co-author of Parallel Lives: Themistocles, Deng Xiaoping and the Rise of Great Powers (Forthcoming, Hurst Publishers / Oxford University Press), and Unravelling the Thucydides Trap: Grand Strategy and China-US Relations (In Greek, Diavlos Publishers, 2023). Vasilis research and teaching covers three main areas: Strategic Studies and Leadership, with a particular interest in Chinese and Greek classics; International Security & Chinese Grand Strategy, emphasizing Geoeconomics; and the Triangular Relations between China, the US, and the EU. Previously, Vasilis has been a Research Fellow at Tsinghua’s Center for China-EU Relations, a Visiting Scholar at Columbia University’s European Institute and a Non-Resident Handa Fellow & Young Leader at the Pacific Forum CSIS. Vasilis has also done research for the Delegation of the European Union in the USA, the Carnegie-Tsinghua Center for Global Policy in Beijing, and the Jean Monnet Center of Excellence at the University of Athens. At Tsinghua, he spearheaded the initiative to establish an endowed visiting chair on Hellenic and European Studies, a contribution to Sino-EU people-to-people exchanges recognized by the European Commissioner for Research & Innovation. Vasilis works have been featured in various academic journals and media outlets, including the Journal of Contemporary China, the Chinese Journal of International Politics, Global Policy Journal, Political Science Quarterly, the Diplomat, and the South China Morning Post, among others. His contributions also appear in edited volumes published by Bristol University Press, Springer, and Emerald. Vasilis completed his PhD in Political Science at Tsinghua University where he was an Onassis Scholar.
