Born and raised in Liaoning, China, Lu Yilin (Aileen) graduated from Fudan University, majoring in International Politics. She also studied at the University of Tokyo as an exchange student. Now she is doing her Master's study in Yenching Academy of Peking University, majoring in China Studies (Politics and IR Track). Her areas of interest include East Asia foreign policy,  International Political Economy, and Alliance Politics.
