Da Wei Serves as Visiting Scholar at Stanford University

From early January to late March 2024, Professor Da Wei, Director of CISS of Tsinghua University, served as Visiting Scholar, China Policy Fellow, at the Walter H. Shorentein Asia-Pacific Research Center (APARC) of the Freeman Spogli Institute of International Studies (FSI) at Stanford University in the United States.

During his nearly three-month tenure as a visiting scholar, Professor Da Wei had extensive exchanges with scholars and students from different departments at Stanford University and gave five lectures on international order, China-US relations, China’s diplomacy, and other topics.

Beyond Stanford University, Professor Da Wei also held lectures at the University of Pennsylvania, the University of Southern California, the University of California San Diego, the University of Denver, and Harvard University, exchanged views with scholars in different regions, gave lessons in American universities, and visited a number of the US high-tech enterprises in the Silicon Valley. In mid-January, he went to Iowa to observe the Republican caucuses of the US presidential primary and learn about the electoral politics practice of US political parties. He attended three seminars on China-US relations in Atlanta and Washington D.C., conducted one-week thematic research on China-US relations in Washington D.C. and New York, and intensively visited US governmental agencies and major think tanks.
