CISS and the German Embassy in China Discusses and Exchanges Views

On the afternoon of April 19, the Center for International Security and Strategy (CISS) at Tsinghua University hosted a delegation from the German Embassy in China for an exchange visit. Arend Wulff, Director of the Political Section of the German Embassy in China, Deputy Director Marian Gordzielk, Second Secretary Canan Gündüz, and Air Attaché Holger Oswald exchanged views with CISS’s Deputy Director Xiao Qian, Senior Fellow Zhou Bo, Fellow Sun Chenghao, and Research Fellow Shi Yan on topics including the Ukraine crisis and China-EU relations.

Xiao Qian and Zhou Bo shared their reflections on their visit to Germany and their participation in the Munich Security Conference this year and exchanged views with the Embassy delegation on topics such as the Ukraine crisis and regional security order. Meanwhile, the two sides both endorsed the positive impact of the recent visit of European leaders to China on promoting the development of China-EU relations and conducted an in-depth discussion on the U.S. strategic competition with China and China-U.S. relations.
