On January 6, 2022, the Center for International Security and Strategy (CISS) of Tsinghua University and China Forum jointly organized the 24th Security and Strategy Seminar which focused on the present and future of China-Europe relations. H.E. SHI Mingde, former Chinese Ambassador to Germany, was invited to brief the participants on China-Europe relations and China’s efforts in the regard. Dr. JIANG Feng, Chair of the University Council of Shanghai International Studies University and a China Forum Expert, made additional remarks. The panelists shared their insights and had an in-depth exchange of views on the changes within Europe, the shifts in Europe’s perception and mindset toward China, the China-US relations, and the international landscape, and on how China can make effective efforts toward Europe to open up new horizons for their bilateral ties. The meeting was moderated by Ms. XIAO Qian, Deputy Director of CISS and Executive Committee Member of China Forum, with CISS Director DA Wei and China Forum Secretary General ZHANG Lirong giving the opening and concluding remarks respectively.
