Rebecca (Yancheng) Zhang is a fourth-year student at the University of Sydney majoring in International Relations and Education. She is currently in her Honours year with a thesis on Chinese strategic culture and informationised warfare. Rebecca is a policy research assistant at Intellisia Institute, where she contributes to a series of reports and commentaries on AI politics, data governance, Taiwan politics and US-China relations. Rebecca was a former intern at the Australian Institute of International Affairs (AIIA) NSW, she has experience in event organisation, multi-media management, and op-ed writing in the field of international affairs. As a previous China Talk coordinator at the China Development Society (USYD), Rebecca led and organised a series of panel discussions about China-related international affairs, with a broad engagement with local politicians, academics, journalists and researchers. Rebecca's research interests revolve around political theory, war studies, cross-strait relations, democracy and justice, AI politics etc. with a particular regional interest in the Indo-Pacific region.
