XIAO Qian is the Dean of Office of International Affairs, Tsinghua University. She is also the Vice Dean of the Institute for AI International Governance (I-AIIG) and Deputy Director of the Center for International Security and Strategy (CISS) at Tsinghua University. From 2003 to 2014, she served in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as well as the Chinese Embassies in Russia and in the UK as Third Secretary, Second Secretary and First Secretary successively. She joined the Foreign Affairs Committee of the National People’s Congress (NPC) in 2015, where she contributed to parliamentary engagement and work related to the NPC Spokesperson’s Office. In January 2019, Ms. Xiao joined Tsinghua University and helped to establish CISS and I-AIIG. She follows closely to China-US relations and attended China-US Strategic and Security Dialogue, China-US Track II Dialogue, and China-US Dialogue on AI and International Security and etc. She was one of the key organizers for the International Forum and AI Cooperation and Governance of Tsinghua University. She also initiated to launch CISS Youth Program, and Tsinghua Student Association of International and Strategic Studies.
