FAN Jishe is a professor in the Institute for International Strategic Studies at Party School of the Central Committee of C.P.C. (National Academy of Governance); Nonresident Senior Fellow, CISS, Tsinghua University;

From July 1997 to August 2019, He was Senior Fellow and Director of Strategic Studies and Deputy Director of the Center for Arms Control and Nonproliferation Studies in the Institute of American Studies at Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. He was the founding Executive Editor-in-Chief of the Contemporary of American Review journal. His research interests mainly include Sino-US strategic security relationship, American arms control and nonproliferation policies. He published widely in academic journals, edited volumes, and conference proceedings. He recently authored and edited four books on American military strategy, arms control policy, and nuclear strategies. He obtained his PHD from the Graduate School of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences in 2004, and spent about two years in total in Harvard University, Stanford University, Monterey Institute of International Studies as visiting scholar.
