Nonresident Senior Fellow of CISS, Tsinghua University, the Director of the Center for Maritime Strategy Studies and Research Professor of the School of International Relations, Peking University,

Hu Bo is a nonresident Senior Fellow of CISS, Tsinghua University, the Director of the Center for Maritime Strategy Studies at Peking University, and a Research Professor of the School of International Relations.He also serves as a director of the Pacific Society of China and is the head of the South China Sea Strategic Situation Probing Initiative (SCSPI). He has long been engaged in research on maritime strategy and policy, international security, and related fields. He has published over 40 academic papers in domestic and international core journals such as World Economics and Politics, International Observations, Foreign Affairs Review, and The Journal of Chinese Political Science. He has authored several academic books on maritime issues, including China's Maritime Power in 2049(2015), China's Maritime Power in the Post-Mahan Era(2018), and Chinese Maritime Power in the 21st Century (Routledge, 2019).
